Somebody get Andrew Collins over here! Yesterday I spotted a 3rd Gen Tacoma. It wasn’t any third Gen Tacoma, it was the new TRD Pro. The Grill Gave it away. I regret to inform you all that I did not get a photo of the suspension setup. This example has a very nice looking Snorkel attached. Perhaps they will be offering it as a dealer add on or an option from the factory? I thought it was interesting that the PS Fender is a different color than the truck. Thoughts?

Probably wanted to keep the original fender to put back on when not using the snorkel would be my guess.

These havent hit dealers yet. I am thinking this is a prototype.

If it was just the grill I would say bah...but the lights give it away. Where did you see it?

Looks like it might be for some ARB product test fitting. We all know ARB has pretty good relations with Toyota, and their Safari Snorkel division took forever to come out with a snorkel for the 2nd-Gen Tacoma. I’m guessing with the new Tacoma and Colorado/Canyon all in the news these days they’ll want to strike while the iron’s hot. That would explain the odd fender. Probably going to put the original back on afterwards.
I wonder what those colored dots on the fender flare are for?..

Definitely not a TRD Pro. It has a grill and fog light swap from a TRD Pro. Pros do not come in that color or have a sunroof. It looks like a TRD Off Road based off the rims.

Replied on that other thread, but I’ll reply here too. This isn’t a TRD Pro prototype.
There are several details that tell me this is a TRD Off-road with a few hundred dollars in mods. The sunroof (not available on TRD Pro’s), the wheels, the non scooped hood and the headlights.
TRD Pro grills are all over the place. Chinese manufacturers picked up on the trend and make near identical replicas for cheap. I just bought one for $130 for my truck. Those fogs are from Rigid Industries and are $300...yes, they come on the Pro, but lots of non-Pros run them. Snorkel kits are also easy to find, several folks make them.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but you took a picture of a very lightly modified TRD Off-Road. If you check Instagram you’ll find thousands of pics like yours, from the actual owners who made such modifications to their trucks.
